To achieve this magnitude of capacity, Gujarat has been given the target of 8,024 MW of solar power capacity for 2022-23, of which 3,200 MW will be contributed by the roofing segment.

Therefore, in order to promote large-scale rooftop solar systems on private residential rooftops, the Government has introduced a subsidy scheme for solar roofs in the residential sector.
This scheme will be called “SURYA-Gujarat” (Surya Urja Rooftop Yojana-Gujarat) with the following provisions:
Goal: The goal for solar rooftop installations will be to serve 2 lac consumers during the 2021-22 year and a total of 8 lac consumers by the end of fiscal year 2022-23.
The cost of the system mentioned in the table above includes the supply, installation, commissioning, comprehensive 5-year maintenance contract of the complete solar system, bi-directional meter and its test charges, SMC box for the meter and connectivity charges to pay the DISCOM and the standard structure required to install the solar photovoltaic panel on the roof, with a minimum distance of 300mm between the terrace surface and the bottom edge of the panel. The cost of the additional height of the required structure, if any, will be borne by the beneficiary.

Residential consumer of any DISCOM, who has residential property in their name,is eligible to install a solar photovoltaic system on your rooftop from any provider selected by him from GEDA's Breaded Vendors list. The list of these providers is available at GEDA website www.geda.gujarat.gov.in
